  5. Sep 14,  · Listening to Elvin Jones on this lp lead Joe Farrell, Dave Liebman, Gene Perla, and Frank Foster (!) in another piano-less outing is really something else. It's more spacious and reverb-y than the classic Coltrane albums, for sure. Perhaps he was thinking of the mysterious qualities of Bitches Brew, but refusing to be a funky time-keeper.

  6. Elvin Jones was always an innovator, pushing the envelope like Miles Davis did with his trumpet and Jimmy Hendrix did with his guitar. I guarantee, if you like to hear top notch improvisation and great songs with terrific musicians, don't pass this album up.5/5(2).
